What I Used to Create a Gourmet Fruit Basket at Home
- Semisweet Chocolate chips
- Double Boiler
- This is a great tool to use for melting your chocolate
- Butter
- Melt this along with the chocolate in order to facilitate the process, and also to help prevent any sticking to appliances

- Pineapple Chunks
- Strawberries
- Walnuts & Cinnamon Toasted Almonds
- The choice of nuts is really your own to make but these are the ones that I used
- Parchment Paper
- Lay the chocolate dipped fruit to cool on this as the chocolate won’t stick to it
- Toothpicks
- I used these to dip the fruit into the chocolate
Directions
- Crush Your Nuts into Tiny Bits for in Preparation for the Fruit
- I tend to pour my nuts into plastic ziplock bags and then roll the side of a bowl over it in an effort to crush everything into the tiniest bits possible. Place in a bowl afterwards.
- Lay Out the Fruit You Will Work With
- Normally, strawberries should be rinsed with water and then patted dry as working with melted chocolate and moisture gives it a hard time sticking. I recommend placing your fruit on parchment paper with toothpicks in them so they are ready to be dipped.
- Melt Chocolate Chips and Butter Using a Double Boiler
- Heat, don’t boil, water in the bottom half of the double boiler. Pour your chocolate chips and butter in the top section and stir until smooth.
- Dip Fruit into Melted Chocolate then Dip into Crushed Nuts
- You’ll want to lay your fruit to rest on parchment paper after dipping. Let sit in the fridge until the chocolate has hardened.
- Neatly Place The Chocolate Covered Fruit on a Plate and Dive in
- Casserole Dishes are a convenient and elegant container with which to present and store your creation.
