We all know that going on first dates is hard enough, but now with the pandemic, everyone has to get a little more creative if they still plan on going on dates. Luckily, there is a myriad of creative ways to go on a first date while still staying safe and socially distanced.
Drive-in Movie
Since the pandemic, one industry that’s taken a huge hit is the film industry and everyone is feeling it. Movies are a great way to connect with people. Drive-in movie theaters, which were once something of nostalgia, have now come back in full swing due to the pandemic. So take your date on a retro yet safe movie-watching experience.. And the best part? You can bring your own snacks.
Take A Hike
If you’re the outdoorsy type or just suffering from a little cabin fever and need social interaction, try taking a date out on a hike. It’s the perfect way to get out of the house and get to know someone new on a more intimate level. Going on a hike gives partners a chance to enjoy nature as well as each other without the pressure of feeling like they’re on a date. A hike is more informal, but it allows for a greater connection to be made between individuals.
Themed Movie Nights
Dinner and a movie especially in this pandemic has become played out and unoriginal. For a more fun experience, you and your date should each pick a movie based on a theme. Themes such as cheesy romantic comedies, favorite horror flicks, or possibly home movies if you have them. With streaming at its all-time high right now it won’t be hard to find a theme to stick to and pick a movie based on the theme. All you need is some paper, pencil, scissors and a hat so you can pick your movie theme. Since you’re spicing up the movie-watching experience, it’s only right that the popcorn-eating experience is spiced up as well with a plethora of different flavors.
Star Gazing
There’s nothing more romantic than taking a significant other out to gaze amongst the constellations. Just grab a blanket and a date. Having it planned around observing our little place in this universe is not only eye-opening but enticingly relaxing and romantic. While Covid has put our busy lives to a screeching halt, a planetarium show provides a nice change, if only for a moment.
